About the Event

This full days workshop will be run by Jayne Burton, an exsperienced and enthusiastic textile designer from Bridport. Suitable for beginners and the more experienced, you will explore the Ancient Japanese Art of Resist Dyeing, using natural Indigo dye on pure cotton fabric. 

 

You will be learning alot of traditional methods of stitched and bound resist and some of the many ways to stitch, bind, fold, twist, wrap or compress cloth for dyeing, creating your own beautiful geometric & organic patterns.

All materials are supplied, but please bring along your favourite sewing kit if you have one, also an apron, and clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dye splashes on. 

Included in the price is a hot drink & cake during morning break and a delicious lunch cooked fresh from our Pack Horse Cafe. Vegan & Vegetarian lunches and cakes available.
